Liquefied petroleum gas cylinder safety use common sense

Liquefied petroleum gas cylinders are widely used in our daily lives to make our lives more convenient and comfortable. However, it is also flammable and explosive. Therefore, there is a great danger in transportation and use. There have been many major liquefied petroleum gas fires at home and abroad; explosions have caused major losses to people’s lives and property. Illegal filling and incorrect use are the immediate causes of the accident.

Correct use of liquefied petroleum gas cylinders should first be visually inspected to determine if it meets the requirements:

1. From the color point of view, the bottle body should be silver-gray, the top should have a large red (liquefied petroleum gas) word, and there is a filling unit name, such as the rusty and non-painted gas cylinder can not be used.

(2) Gas cylinders without any manufacturing marks; or there may be manufacturers, but they are not usable by the national designated factories.

3. Gas cylinders that have not been labelled with warning labels, and gas cylinders that have not been stamped with filling licenses on the protective barriers can not be used.

4. Cylinders with loose or detached cylinder barriers, and detached, deformed or other defects in the base affect their upright cylinders.

5. Cylinders with no inspection mark or expired cylinders cannot be used. (15kg liquefied petroleum gas cylinders are inspected every 4 years)

6. The cylinders marked on the cylinder that have been shipped for more than 15 years cannot be used.

7. The bottle valve should be sealed and leak-free.

8. Gas cylinders with longitudinal welds or spiral welds cannot be used.

However, we should pay more attention to the use of:

1. The cylinder supplied by the filling unit that has obtained the filling license must be used.

2. Do not allow the bottle to be filled in reverse.

3. Cylinder should be placed in a cool place, avoid moisture, and not more than 1 meter away from the stove, heating, is strictly prohibited to roasted or soaked in hot water, sun or inverted use, mobile cylinders should be closed angle valve. Never hit, stack, and roll during transport.

4. Before ignition, pay attention to whether there is liquefied petroleum odor in the room and check for leaks.

5. At any time check whether the hose is aging or leaking. Check if the connection between the two ends of the pipe is tight and if the pressure relief valve fails.

6. When using liquefied petroleum gas stoves, the gas should be opened after ignition (the valve should not be opened too much during ignition). During use, the contents of the pan will be prevented from overflowing after boiling, and the fire will be extinguished by running out of fire and exploding.

In the event of a fire, the right-angle valve should be closed immediately and fire-fighting measures should be taken. At the same time, items such as cotton quilts should be soaked in water to cover the gas cylinders, and the purpose of suffocating fire can also be achieved.
