However, rolling bearings also have certain disadvantages, mainly
1. The rolling bearing is particularly sensitive to metal foreign objects. Once the foreign matter enters the bearing, it will produce intermittent large vibration and noise, which may cause early damage of the bearing.
2. The vibration and noise of the rolling bearing are large, especially in the later stage of use. Therefore, in the case where the precision is high and vibration is not allowed, the rolling bearing is difficult to perform.
3. The ability of a rolling bearing to withstand a load is much smaller than that of a plain bearing of the same volume. Therefore, the radial dimension of the rolling bearing is large. Therefore, when the load is large and the radial dimension is required to be small, a sliding bearing is often used.
Compared with plain bearings, rolling bearings have their own advantages and disadvantages, each of which has a certain application. Therefore, the two cannot be completely replaced.
