Radioactivity and 3c certification

The national standard gb6566-2001 "Limits of radionuclides for building materials" stipulates the limits and test methods for natural radionuclides in building materials: radium-226, strontium-232, potassium-40, radioactivity specific activity.

Since August 1, 2005, China has begun mandatory radioactivity testing of porcelain tiles with a water absorption rate of ≤0.5%. Tile manufacturers must pass this certification to allow product sales, the so-called 3c mandatory certification. Glazed tiles and square tiles are not covered by the “3c” certification because they have a water absorption rate of more than 0.5%.

The specific radioactive nuclide of radium-226, 钍-232, and potassium-40 in the decoration materials meets the requirements of ira ≤ 1.0 (internal irradiation index) and ir ≤ 1.3 (external irradiation index), which is a type of decoration material. Its production, sales and use range is not limited.
