The MPIF Awards Committee has announced the winners of the 2009 MPIF Powder Metallurgy Outstanding Service Award, which is presented to individuals who have recommended a candidate to serve the North American powder metallurgy industry for at least 25 years and make outstanding contributions. The awards ceremony will take place during the PowderMet 2009 conference in Las Vegas, Nevada, during the industrial recognition luncheon on Monday, June 29.
Nominees for this year include: Gary L. Anderson (Keystone Powder Metals); John C. Hebeisen (before retirement in Bodycote); Thomas J. Jesberger (Abbott Furnace); Shiz Kassam (Keystone Powder Metals); Lou Koehler (before retiring to Vale Inco Americas (formerly Inco Special Products); Kalathur S. Narasimhan, FAPMI, Hagers Company; Charles L. Rose, (before retiring at Bronson & Bratton); John A. Shields , Jr. (PentaMet Associates LLC); Thomas L. Stockwell, Jr., (Before retiring to Burgess-Norton Mfg. Co); Ted A. Tomlin (before retiring to FloMet LLC); and Robert Unkel (before retirement) At Cincinnati Incorporated).
