A popular food sea crab successfully implemented artificial seedlings

A common type of sea crab on the table was successfully raised by a company in Beihai City.

In 2007, Beihai City Aquatic Technology Co., Ltd. undertook the research project “Study and Demonstration on the Breeding Techniques of the Swimming Crabs of the Sea.” They currently completed three batches of nursery, among which the third batch produced 9 million zoea, and experts determined that 4 million larvae survived and the survival rate was 44.4%.

This means that it is possible to carry out large-scale breeding of common sea crabs with the common name of “crab”. Yang Xiaoying, a director of the Beihai Science and Technology Bureau, said that all currently listed crabs are natural fishing. With the decreasing amount of resources, the amount of marine catch has been difficult to meet the needs of domestic and foreign markets. The reporter learned from the Beihai market that the sales price of the crab market is nearly 50 yuan per kilogram.

The sea trout is widely distributed in the Indian Ocean and Western Pacific regions, including the coastal areas of southern China and the coastal waters of Japan, the Philippines, Thailand, Malaysia, Australia, and the east coast of Africa. It often inhabits sandy muddy seabeds or rocks that are 10-30 meters deep.
