Common defects in heat treatment of trolley furnaces: Quenching and decarburization

The common defects in the heat treatment process of the trolley furnace (quenching and tempering) are as follows: Quenching and decarburization The reasons for the defects are as follows:
1. In salt baths, the levels of water, oxygen, and impurities (such as sulfates, carbonates) are too high
2. Iron oxide scale falls into the furnace
3. Nitrates are brought into the furnace
4. Deoxygenation and residue is not complete
5. Quenching fixture with rust
6. Summer air humidity is too high This defect prevents measures:
1. Barium chloride must be dehydrated at 300~500oC for 2~4h before use.
2. Before quenching and heating, salt bath strict deoxidation, residue
3. Frequently cleans the trolley furnace electrode oxide
4. Change salt regularly
5. Clean up the rust of the quenching jig and dry the defects:
1. Severe decarburization scrapped
2. The depth of decarburization is less than the amount of grinding, which can be used as qualified products
3. The depth of decarburization is greater than the amount of grinding, and the hardness of the surface layer after quenching and tempering is not lower than 55~60HRC. The annealing and carburizing methods can be used for remediation.
