From April 11 to 16, 2011, the 12th China International Machine Tool Show (CIMT2011) with the theme of “Science and Technology Innovation to Meet the Post-Crisis Era” was held in Beijing. Under the background that the economic crisis is gradually dissipating and the international economy is slowly picking up, the healthy and rapid development model of China's economy is attracting more and more attention. At this exhibition, well-known machine tools and tool manufacturing companies from home and abroad gathered in Beijing, bringing a stimulating and creative technology feast to the machinery industry after the baptism of the economic crisis.

For the tool exhibits of this exhibition, high efficiency, high precision, high reliability and long life are still the themes pursued by tool development. In the face of the extensive application of difficult-to-machine materials in machining, represented by the aerospace industry, new technologies for difficult-to-machine materials have also become new hotspots; as the tool technology of conventional material processing matures, the tool development features are more economical. Sex. From the perspective of the machining industry, the brand tool technology is becoming more and more mature, the product manufacturing and R&D standards are getting closer, and the industry's overall solution has become a new competitive hotspot. From the development of the service link, the tool service has extended from the tool application service to the tool. Management, processing technology and other fields. These remarkable features are impressive and convinced by the rapid development of tool technology. The tool exhibits for this exhibition are reviewed as follows:

First, the new technology of tools around difficult materials has become a hot spot

In this exhibition, the major tool companies also showed their latest achievements in the field of machining of such materials for the processing characteristics of a series of difficult-to-machine materials.

Processing of composite materials:

Sweden's Sandvik Coromant has developed a CoroMill® R drill series for high resin or high fiber composites for the processing characteristics of composite materials (see Figure 1) to meet stringent hole tolerances. Surface roughness requirements.

SECO introduced the JabroTM JC800 composite milling cutter series (Fig. 2), which minimizes fiber breakage and delamination on the tool structure and improves the surface roughness of the edges. At the same time, its coated DURA diamond coating, with its extremely low surface roughness and high matrix adhesion, has excellent heat and abrasion resistance and is an ideal tool for composite processing.

Processing of titanium alloys and superalloys:

In the processing of high-temperature alloys and titanium alloys, SECO is the first to exhibit the super-hard tool grade CBN170 suitable for processing superalloys. The company also exhibited the JHP780 solid carbide end mill for high temperature alloy machining (Fig. 3).

Also suitable for titanium machining is the new spiral mill for Coromill â—‹ R690 titanium milling from Sandvik Coromant, Sweden (Fig. 4), which has high pressure cooling for each seat (HPC). The device, compared to ordinary cooling, HPC technology can extend the life of the blade nearly double, effectively avoiding chip welding.

A similar structure is also available from Japan's MITSUBISHI (Mitsubishi)'s new titanium alloy milling VFX series spiral milling cutter (Fig. 5). The maximum chip removal rate of rough-worked titanium alloy is up to 400cm3 / min.

Second, the conventional material processing tool design pays more attention to economy

From the perspective of tool exhibits in this exhibition, increasing the number of single-blade cutting edges and developing interchangeable head tools have become the mainstream choice for reducing tool magazine capacity and reducing processing costs.

SECO's DOUBLE OCTOMILL "double-sided" milling inserts, with 16 cutting edges for roughing and finishing, are economical. The same is to provide customers with high-efficiency milling tools. Zhuzhou Diamond Cutting Tools Co., Ltd., a domestic tool company, also launched the FMA07 “Hurricane” series face milling cutter with 16 blades (Fig. 6).

Different from the traditional two-blade, four-blade square-shoulder milling tools, SECO's SECO AWUARE 6 cube cutter, which is displayed at this exhibition, uses a triangular CNC blade with 6 available cutting edges on both sides. Coincidentally, TaeguTec also exhibited a six-blade economical shoulder milling cutter.

As an important technology aimed at saving offline tool change time and saving enterprise tool procurement cost, the development of interchangeable tool has become a hot spot in tool development in recent years. At this exhibition, Zhuzhou Diamond first launched the “Linghu” series of interchangeable head products for various industries such as mold, automobile, energy and aviation. WALTER's modular solid carbide tooling system, ConeFitTM (Fig. 7), combines a wide range of functions such as solid carbide roughing, finishing, 3D contouring and profile machining.

For turning tools, MITSUBISHI's GY series of new groove machining turning tools adopts TRI-LOCK locking mechanism (Fig. 8) in three directions of lateral, front and upper directions, which can realize various machining modes and achieve maximum intensive tool.

In the field of hole machining, MAPAL has introduced a TTD interchangeable head drill that can be used to reduce wear and cost by replacing the drill tip with an internal cold hole.

Third, the tool holder and interface technology towards reliability, adjustability, high precision development

As the connecting link between the machine tool and the cutting tool, the tool holder and the interface technology have always been one of the most important components of the machining tool. The rigidity and precision of the tool holder also directly affect the machining quality and the service life of the cutting tool and even the machine tool.

Kennametal of the United States launched the latest interface device KM4X (Figure 9) at this exhibition. This structure provides maximum rigidity, and this high interference + high clamping force coupling ensures system stability from low to high spindle speeds.

Schunk (Schox) has brought a new generation of TENDO E compact multi-function hydraulic shank (Fig. 10) to meet the requirements of traditional ER collet chucks and heat shrinkable shanks. Large cutting capacity can also be used for various processes such as hinge, drilling, chamfering and tapping.

SECO has introduced a unique Steadyline damping system with a dynamic damping assembly mounted on the front of the Steadyline face milling shank. Based on this technology, the tool holder can perform typical long overhang processing for better surface roughness and production efficiency. Document.write(" ");xno = xno+1;

Fourth, high efficiency, high precision, high life is still the theme of tool development

Efficiency, precision and tool life have always been the pursuit of tool development. Whether it is from material innovation or structural improvement, its fundamental purpose cannot avoid this main direction. The new technologies and new products brought by the tool companies at this exhibition also reflect this feature.

Coolant application technology is maturing

Kennametal has demonstrated its BEYOND range of new products, BEYOND BLAST, which extends the life of BEYOND BLAST by up to 300% compared to conventional coolant delivery systems.

Sweden's Sandvik Coromant uses coolant jet technology to achieve new breakthroughs in small part machining.

Large cutting depth and large feed tool improve machining efficiency

As a basic means to improve the processing efficiency, increasing the metal removal rate puts higher demands on the tool. ISCAR's HELIDO double-sided spiral blade series milling cutter (Fig. 11), the wedge-shaped positioning groove design makes the blade fixing more reliable, the maximum cutting depth can reach 10mm, and the efficiency is increased by more than 200%.

Zhuzhou Diamond has also invested a lot of energy in the development of large depth cutting and large feed cutting tools. Its chip-tooth milling cutter SPMX150512-PR uses the blade's own chip-tooth design, and its chip removal capacity is 2-3 times that of ordinary products.

Efficient drilling new products emerge

A large number of efficient drilling tools have also emerged at this exhibition. Product accuracy is getting higher and higher. The use of high-precision machining tools is not only a guarantee of processing quality, but also an important measure to reduce the number of processes, increase machining efficiency, and reduce tool costs.

CBN material development and variety

In the development of super-hard materials, especially the development of CBN grades, many companies have invested a lot of energy. Document.write(" ");xno = xno+1;

With the deeper requirements of cutting tools, processed materials and other cutting tools, cemented carbide materials are experiencing more and more processing blind spots, such as the development of superhard materials such as polycrystalline diamond and cubic boron nitride. It has entered a new era and will become an extremely important tool material in the machining industry in the near future.

5. Tool brand strengthens the overall solution ability of the machining industry

In the increasingly fierce competitive environment, each tool company reflects its own characteristics and advantages in product design and development, and is also approaching the production level of products. With the rapid development of emerging industries such as wind power, nuclear power, and microelectronics, as well as the distinctive features of processing technologies in the automotive, aerospace, and railway industries, industry solutions are now offering more specialized and personalized requirements to tool suppliers.

In the machining of an aircraft frame part, ISCAR's “turnkey project” (Figure 12) demonstrates its strength in the design and manufacture of aerospace parts and non-standard tools.

Sandvik Coromant's range of machining solutions for aerospace reel parts has made it a great solution for the aerospace industry's machining solutions (Figure 13).

In the mold manufacturing, auto parts manufacturing, heavy-duty processing, aerospace and other industries, Zhuzhou Diamond has developed a series of new products, officially entered the competitive echelon of the industry's overall solution. In the auto parts manufacturing industry, the company has shown strong strength in the processing of automotive engines, brake discs, crankshafts and wheels (Figure 14).

Sixth, tool service extension

Like many industry developments, the tool industry has evolved from a simple tool manufacturing and sales role to a comprehensive industry that combines tool production, R&D, sales, technical support, and ancillary services. Cutting processing extends from simple tool production and sales to all directions. Many companies have reached a new level of research in cutting theory. Some enterprises have more personalized advantages in e-commerce, logistics and technical support.
