Disadvantage
(1) Pay attention to harmonic content. The newly revised "Performance Requirements for AC Electronic Ballasts for Tubular Fluorescent Lamps" (GB/T15144-2005) has eliminated the polarization (L-class and H-class) of electronic ballasts specified in the original standard, and their harmonic limits. Should comply with the "electromagnetic compatibility limit harmonic current emission limit" (GB17625 · 1-2003). The standard Class C - Harmonic Current Limits for Lighting Equipment are shown in Table 2.
Users should pay attention to the harmonic limit of the lamps below 25W in Table 2, which is very loose. For example, if a small amount of fluorescent lamps (including T8, T5 tubes and compact fluorescent lamps with a length of 2 feet) are used in a building, Causes severe waveform distortion, excessive neutral current, and poor power factor degradation.
(2) Focus on product quality and level. There are many electronic ballasts on the market, the quality and level are very different, which can be described as mixed. The main performance is:
1 large harmonic content;
2 low lumen coefficient;
3 reliability is not high;
4 short service life.
Although these products are inexpensive, they must be taken care of, and it is recommended not to use them.
