British residents use edible oil to generate electricity to experience green living

Environmental pollution and the depletion of fossil fuels are the two major threats to human survival and security today. In response, people actively adopt various environmental protection measures to avoid energy crisis. Even technological innovation follows the principle of green protection.

Waste cooking oil not only poses a great threat to the environment, but also creates a significant financial burden. Every year, Britain uses up to 15 million pounds (approximately RMB 140 million) to clear up blocked sewers.

The innovative practice of generating electricity from edible oil in the residents of Kirklees in the UK is a perfect embodiment of green living and has effectively alleviated the energy crisis. A large amount of waste cooking oil, including unused ones, was received by a recycling center for centralized power generation and supply of homes and offices. This process reduces carbon dioxide emissions from traditional power generation methods and also reduces the economic burden on taxpayers. As a result, while safeguarding sustainable development, residents have also contributed to reducing climate change.

In addition, a liter of cooking oil can be used to power a plasma TV for 50 hours, an energy-saving bulb for 225 hours, and a DVD player for 440 hours. This staggering figure undoubtedly proves that the use of edible oil to generate electricity is an economic, environmentally-friendly and sustainable way of generating electricity, and it also adds a new impetus to technological innovation.

Expanded Metal Mesh

Expanded metal is sometimes considered an alternative to sheet metal or wire mesh. It combines some of the best features of both-providing a material that is stronger than thin wire mesh and has better air flow and drainage than sheet metal.
