Xi'an Institute of Optics, Nano-reflective Materials Research Progresses

How to build a large-area anti-reflective antireflection coating layer simply, efficiently, and cost-effectively, and achieve high-quality wide-spectrum antireflection performance, has been a frontier research topic in the field of optical interface layers. In the past, wide-spectrum antireflection coating layers were mostly designed as multi-layered film structures, which required multiple coating processes. Therefore, the process is complicated and the cost is high and it is only applicable to high-end instrument equipment.

Researchers Guo Zhaolong and Zhao Haixin of the State Key Laboratory of Transient Optics and Photonics Technology, Xi'an Institute of Optics and Precision Mechanics, Chinese Academy of Sciences, conducted in-depth studies and made progress on this issue, and proposed a core-shell coating of organic-inorganic silica precursor-coated styrene-acrylic emulsion. The method for preparing structured nanomaterials is prepared by a simple sol-gel method, and is designed as a micro-nano structure for constructing the basic structural unit of the anti-reflection antireflection coating layer, thereby realizing a simple and rapid control of the refractive index of the film layer and achieving a single film layer. Based on this, combined with high-efficiency, low-cost impregnation-lifting and physical-like tempering techniques, a large-area, high-quality, low-cost, broad-spectrum anti-reflection antireflection coating can be constructed on the glass surface. The technology has been successfully applied to the solar cell module cover glass, which improves the light capturing capability of the module and the power generation per unit area, and is expected to be applied on a large scale to solar cell module cover glass, architectural glass, and agricultural greenhouse glass.
