As China's largest producer and exporter of footwear, Fujian exported US$5.444 billion worth of footwear last year, ranking second in mainland China. Putian is the footwear export market in Fujian. Putian exports shoes all over the world and grows at a rate of more than 15% every year. From January to July 2010, Putian footwear products were exported 41,000 batches, valued at 1.085 billion US dollars, and the added value of products was significantly improved.

However, in the transformation and upgrading of the industrial structure, the improvement of product quality, as well as enterprise management, scale efficiency, brand effect, the improvement of the industrial chain, and the Group's competitive advantages, Putian shoes industry still has obvious deficiencies. Industry insiders proposed that the construction of an export footwear quality and safety demonstration zone in Putian is the only way to improve the overall quality of Putian footwear industry and improve the quality of footwear products.

On the day of the unveiling ceremony, the Fujian Entry-Exit Inspection and Quarantine Bureau and Putian City also signed the "Agreement on Establishing a Quality and Safety Demonstration Zone for Export Footwear in Putian City and Promoting the Development of Putian Shoes Industry." The two parties stated that they will deepen the construction of a quality and safety system, build a quality and safety industry chain, strengthen the ability of enterprises to respond to foreign technical barriers, upgrade the quality and safety level of export footwear, ensure that no major quality and safety accidents occur, and encourage and guide enterprises to accelerate structural adjustment and brand building. , technological innovation and equipment reform to promote the transformation and upgrading of export footwear industry; first try, innovate and export footwear inspection and supervision mode, and further accelerate the construction of large customs clearance, and help enterprises expand exports.
