Since such impurities cannot be detected by the usual photoelectric method, many studies on such impurities have been made in order to find a good detection method.
Using the principle of acoustic reflection, the Italian company Loptex has previously improved the de-dusting machine with only a photodetector, plus an ultrasonic detector. Now the new Optosonic machine with ultrasonic detector is launched by Loptex under the name "Optical Ultrasonic Cleaner", which allows the raw cotton to be tested by ultrasonic detectors and photodetectors.
Compared with the photoelectric detection in which two sets are installed, only one ultrasonic detector can be installed, because most of the sound waves can penetrate the original cotton in the open state. At the same time, an acoustic absorption device is mounted opposite the ultrasonic detector to prevent sound waves passing through the cotton fibers from being reflected back from the opposite metal wall. Ultrasonic testing and photodetection, the application of these two different principles of detection methods have a great overlap. For example, colored chemical fiber impurities, or non-chemical fiber impurities with a hard surface structure, are detected when passing through both detectors. This makes the machine not only strengthen the detection of colored impurities and colorless impurities, but also enhances the impurity removal effect of the machine, and greatly improves the overall detection efficiency.
