An anti-dumping tax of US$13.85 per pair means that the anti-dumping tax rate is almost 100%. Once the decision is put into effect, from the perspective of the guest, who will spend twice the money to buy the same product? Therefore, after the decision is formally implemented, no Brazilian company will purchase footwear from China.
The reporter connected Wu Zhenchang, president of the Guangdong Footwear Anti-Dumping Union, and learned that the anti-dumping duty imposed by Brazil is almost 100%, which will definitely allow Chinese companies to completely withdraw from the Brazilian market and may trigger a “domino effectâ€.
He suggested that the Chinese government adopt similar measures to deal with the EU, or initiate a dispute resolution procedure within the framework of the WTO, or take countermeasures to force Brazil to abandon its anti-dumping measures on imports of footwear from China.
