Since the birth of China's first synthetic diamond in Zhengzhou Abrasives Grinding Research Institute in 1963, Henan has become the radiation source of China's superhard materials research and development center and technical talents.

The person in charge of the High-tech Industry Department of the Provincial Development and Reform Commission explained that it is actually a small industry, and the scale of the country is more than 20 billion yuan, but its role in the development of other industries. Very large, known as "industrial teeth", widely used in construction, roads, steel, aerospace, automotive, electronics and other fields. Due to its particularity, the state attaches great importance to the super-hard materials industry, and Henan's super-hard materials industry has received the “key care†of the country.
"It can be said that Henan's advantages in super-hard materials are not comparable in China. Every company in our province has almost certain products occupying an absolute leading position in the country and the world." Zhengzhou Abrasives Grinding Research Institute Proudly said, "Last year, the super-hard materials and products industry in Henan Province took the lead in obtaining the 'birth certificate' of the national high-tech industrial chain with regional characteristics, and received the national subsidy of 125 million yuan."
The person in charge of the Henan Provincial Development and Reform Commission said that the purpose of the establishment of the Henan Province Superhard Materials Industry Alliance was to promote the work of the superhard materials and products industry chain in Henan Province. The basics of joining the alliance are all the backbone enterprises in Henan Province, such as Zhengzhou Abrasives Grinding Research Institute, Henan Huanghe Industrial Group Co., Ltd., Zhongnan Diamond Co., Ltd., Zhengzhou Huajing Diamond Co., Ltd., etc. After the negotiation, the institutions of higher learning decided to join the alliance. It is understood that the alliance is a non-profit organization that will focus on research, development, manufacturing, sales and service related to superhard materials and products. Yesterday, the head of the alliance said that the new research results developed by the alliance in the future will be used preferentially in the member units of the alliance.
