What is a whole body brick

Many people have misunderstandings about the concept of whole bricks, which should start with the production process of ceramic tiles. In the production process of ceramic tiles, there is a process called “cloth”, which also distributes the ceramic powder evenly on the press preparation table. When the fabric process is completed, the powder is pressed into brick by a large-tonnage ceramic press. The embryo is finally burnt into a tile through a kiln.

The so-called whole body brick means that in the cloth processing process, all the powders distributed on the pressing table of the press are the same type of powder, and the tiles after firing are the same pattern and the same color from the bottom to the surface.

The opposite of the whole body brick is the "secondary cloth" tile, that is, in the cloth process, a primer is first placed, then a layer of fabric is placed on the bottom material, and then formed by a ceramic press. The purpose of this is to reduce the production cost of the tile. For example, when producing white ceramic tiles, since white powder is expensive, it is possible to save more than half of the expensive powder by using ordinary ash as a primer. As long as the tile looks at the side, it can be found that the powder is divided into two layers. The surface of the whole brick is not glazed, and the material and color of the front and back sides are the same. The whole body brick is a kind of wear-resistant brick, although there are now varieties such as oozing through-body bricks, but the color is relatively inferior to the glazed brick. As the current interior design is more and more inclined to plain design, the whole body brick is becoming more and more fashionable, and it is widely used in the floor of decoration projects such as halls, aisles and outdoor walkways; generally it will be used for wall surfaces.
