In 2014, the value-added energy consumption of industrial units above designated size in Jiangxi Province fell by 9.9% over the previous year, exceeding the annual plan for a 4% decline. In the first four years of the “Twelfth Five-Year Planâ€, the cumulative energy consumption of industrial units increased by 29%, completing the “12th Five-Year†industrial energy-saving goal one year ahead of schedule. Industrial energy consumption accounts for about 75% of the total energy consumption of society, and the large reduction in energy consumption per unit of industrial added value has laid a solid foundation for achieving the goal of energy saving for the whole society, that is, the reduction of energy consumption per unit of GDP.
Most of the unit product energy consumption indicators have been further optimized. In 2014, among the 61 energy consumption indicators monitored by key units in Jiangxi Province, 35 were down compared with the same period last year, and the optimization rate was 57.4%. Among the 44 indicators that reflect the energy consumption per unit product of the six high-energy-consuming industries in petroleum coking, chemical, cement, steel, nonferrous metals, and power, 22 indicators have further declined. Among them, the non-ferrous metals industry's unit consumption index decreased significantly, the energy consumption of tons of aluminum processing materials, the unit's comprehensive energy consumption per unit of copper and the comprehensive energy consumption of unit copper refining decreased by 34.6%, 20.8% and 14.3%, respectively.
