On December 26, 2014, the “Henan Provincial Key Laboratory of High Performance Superhard Materials” (hereinafter referred to as the laboratory) construction project undertaken by Zhengzhou Abrasives Grinding Research Institute Co., Ltd. (in conjunction with Henan University of Technology) was successfully completed. Passed the acceptance inspection organized by the Henan Provincial Department of Science and Technology. The laboratory has a total investment of more than 20 million yuan, and newly purchased 32 sets of equipment for testing. The laboratory carried out trial operation in accordance with the implementation of construction while focusing on the basic theory and technology research on the design, manufacture, testing and application of high-performance super-hard materials, and achieved a number of high-level scientific and technological achievements. The state, provinces and enterprises entrusted 50 scientific research projects (including 25 national-level projects); 8 scientific and technological awards at all levels; 23 authorized patents; 22 revised standards; and 53 papers published. By opening up to the industry and providing technical services, the laboratory has promoted technological advancement in the industry and achieved good social and economic benefits.
