The "12th Five-Year" automobile industry merger and reorganization will increase

Minister of Industry and Information Technology, Miao Wei, said on the 10th that during the "Twelfth Five-Year Plan" period, the automobile industry will be merged and reorganized. He also revealed that the relevant strategic emerging industry planning implementation rules will be reported to the State Council after the two sessions, and is expected to be introduced in the first half of this year.
At the second plenary meeting of the Fourth Session of the 11th National People's Congress, Miao Wei said that the merger and reorganization of the automobile industry is mainly corporate behavior, and the government only creates some environment and conditions. The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology previously said that the overall goal of the 12th Five-Year Plan of the auto industry is still to emphasize that the development of China's auto industry will shift from a big car country to a car power. In the next five years, the Chinese auto industry will shift from a large-scale one in the past to a strong one. Specifically, on the one hand, it advocates the problem of structural overcapacity through mergers and acquisitions and elimination of backward production capacity; on the other hand, it advocates the development of energy-saving vehicles including new energy vehicles.
Regarding the debate over whether electric vehicles will be "plug-in-based" or "switch-based" in the future, Miao Wei said that at present, there is no perfect way for electric vehicles, whether it is based on power-changing or plug-in. All parties are trying, but certainly there will be no such thing as "the automobile industry is led by the grid company." He revealed that the new version of the automobile industry policy being formulated is mainly based on the 2004 edition, and emphasizes the contents of independent innovation, brand cultivation, after-sales service, etc., and pays more attention to people-oriented and better serve customers.
In addition, Miao Wei said that 4G's large-scale commercial application in China will take three to five years.
