Lime nitrogen characteristics and application techniques

Lime nitrogen, also known as calcium cyanamide, contains 20-22% nitrogen. It also contains calcium and a small amount of silicon, phosphorus, sulfur, iron and copper. It is a dark gray powdery or fine-grained nitrogen fertilizer. A water-soluble characteristic of delayed-acting nitrogen fertilizer. In addition to being used as a fertilizer, it can also be used as a herbicide, a bactericide, a defoliant, and a snail. In recent years, it has been used more frequently in the disinfection of facility vegetables. Lime nitrogen is highly toxic, and powdered lime nitrogen is easy to fly, irritating the nasal mucosa, corroding the skin, and taking protective measures during transportation and application. It is also easy to absorb moisture and produce toxic dicyandiamide. It must be stored dry and ventilated during storage. Do not allow livestock or children to come into contact.

Lime nitrogen is an alkaline fertilizer suitable for acidic and slightly acidic soils. The conversion and degradation process after being applied to the soil is complicated, and it is converted into quick-acting nitrogen for a long time. It is converted to cyanamide under acidic conditions, converted to dicyandiamide under alkaline conditions, and then converted by cyanamide or dicyandiamide. The hydrolysis of urea into ammonium nitrogen is widely absorbed and utilized by crops. The dicyandiamide formed by alkaline soil is not easy to be decomposed, the crop is difficult to use, and the long-term existence has an inhibitory effect on soil microbial growth, so lime nitrogen should not be applied in alkaline soil. Lime nitrogen is suitable as a base fertilizer, and it is not suitable for top dressing and seed fertilizer. The base fertilizer should be applied before planting, and it is better to apply the soil after spreading. Cyanide-sensitive crops such as canola, potatoes, etc. Generally not suitable for use. The use of rice, corn, wheat, cotton, and hemp crops is better.
