Further optimized the UHV line fittings and transformers, developed a complete application technology for large-section wires, developed the application technology of large-size angle steel and steel pipes in transmission towers, refined the design technology of foundations, and created a new technology. Substation (conversion station) seismic technology optimizes UHV engineering construction technology. These achievements have been widely used in more than ten UHV transmission projects such as the 1000 kV Huainan-Shanghai UHV AC transmission demonstration project and the Jinping-Sunan ±800 kV UHV DC transmission project.

The Institute of Power Transmission and Transformation Engineering owns the UHV Tower Test Base of the State Grid Corporation and three key laboratories of the State Grid Corporation.
